Customer Success & Retention

Platforms for the keep and grow motion: customer health scoring, churn prediction, renewal and expansion workflow, and the AI agents beginning to face customers directly in onboarding and support handoffs. The decisive questions are whether churn and health predictions have been validated on anything resembling the buyer's own base, whether a health score is explainable enough to act on or a number that launders intuition, and how the platform handles the customer data it aggregates across its install base. Where an AI agent faces the customer, the autonomy questions arrive with it: what it may say and promise unsupervised, and what escalates to a human. Retention economics make this the category where a wrong prediction is quietly expensive.

V
Vitally
Customer success platform built around product usage rather than around account records, and aimed at teams who treat customer success as day to day work rather than as reporting. Health scores are computed from how end users actually behave in the customer's own product, with events arriving through one click connections to analytics tools or sent directly through a scripting interface, and custom metrics defined per business. Around that sit the working surfaces: team workspaces, projects, shared documents that customers can be brought into, automated playbooks that fire on score changes or lifecycle milestones, surveys and satisfaction scoring, dashboards, and an assistant layer that summarizes accounts and meetings. The plan structure is the clearest statement of who it is for. Rather than tiers named for company size, the three plans are named for customer success operating models, covering one to many and product led motions, mixed models, and one to one white glove work, so a buyer selects on how they run the function rather than on headcount. Every plan carries the same core features, unlimited automations, unlimited read only seats, single sign on and the full integration library, with the tiers differing on scale rather than on capability. One practice worth a reader's attention. The vendor publishes two performance figures with their comparison baselines and an attributed third party source, which is better disclosure than most of this category manages, and both headline percentages misstate the improvement the underlying numbers support. Founded 2017 and headquartered in Brooklyn, New York. The company has raised approximately forty million dollars across two rounds.

C
ChurnZero
Customer success platform for subscription businesses, built around knowing which accounts are at risk before a renewal date arrives. The product unifies product usage telemetry, support history, contract data and engagement into account health scores the vendor calls ChurnScores, then drives intervention through automated plays and multi step journeys, in application messaging delivered inside the customer's own product, survey programs, success plans and renewal forecasting. Pricing is charged on the number of end customer accounts managed rather than on seats, which is the single most important thing for a buyer to understand before budgeting and is the same structure the other enterprise platforms in this category use. Independent analysis consistently places the product's economics at organizations managing several hundred to a few thousand customer accounts and describes it as poorly matched below that. The security surface is the most substantial part of the published record and unusually so for a company of this size. A live compliance center carries an audited control report, an information security management certification, an independent health information attestation and a downloadable customer letter summarizing an annual third party penetration test, alongside a separately published paper describing the access architecture in specific terms. The vendor has repositioned over the past two years from customer success toward customer growth and agentic artificial intelligence, launching an agent product in June 2026. It also runs an annual industry research program now in its seventh year and an annual practitioner conference, both of which give it a standing in the category beyond the software. Founded 2015 and headquartered in Washington. The company has raised approximately thirty five million dollars across rounds through Series B.

P
Planhat
Unified customer platform for recurring revenue businesses, built on a flexible data foundation rather than around a fixed customer success object model. The product consolidates customer data scattered across customer record systems, support tickets, product analytics and billing into one place, then drives health scoring, workflow automation and retention motions from it. The vendor positions the platform across three functions rather than one, covering customer success, customer relationship management and professional services automation, which is broader than the category norm and which independent reviewers note splits the roadmap three ways. The commercial model is the distinguishing feature and the thing a buyer must understand first. Pricing is charged on the number of customer accounts managed rather than on user seats, and all tiers are reported to include unlimited users, so an organization can deploy the platform across sales, support and product teams without per seat cost. Cost therefore scales with the size of the customer base being served rather than the size of the team serving it. Founded 2015 in Stockholm by Kaveh Rostampor and Niklas Skog, bootstrapped for seven years before a fifty million dollar Series A in April 2022, with roughly one hundred million dollars raised in total. The team is globally distributed with hubs across Europe, North America, South America and Asia Pacific. Named customers concentrate in enterprise technology, and independent reviewers place the majority of the base in the mid market.

T
Totango
Enterprise customer success platform, and the product of a 2024 merger that consolidated two of the category's independent vendors. The platform tracks customer health, predicts churn and drives retention and expansion workflow, built around a library of prepackaged playbooks the vendor calls SuccessBLOCs and a journey orchestration layer, with bidirectional Salesforce synchronization that reviewers single out as the strongest part of the product. On the brand question the answer is settled. Totango and Catalyst announced their merger in February 2024 under Great Hill Partners, initially under co chief executives drawn from both companies, and the combined business now trades under the single Totango name with three product lines beneath it: Totango as the enterprise platform, Catalyst retained as a product rather than a company, and Unison, a churn intelligence engine built from technology acquired with the Parative team later in 2024. The company rebranded in March 2025. Catalyst is therefore not separately indexed here. Pricing is charged on the number of end customer accounts tracked rather than on seats, which is an unusual model in this category and the single most important thing for a buyer to understand before budgeting. Recorded from the project brief and not independently confirmed on this pass: founding year 2010. The merged company's own announcement gives Redwood City rather than the San Mateo the brief records. Competitor analysis notes repeated chief executive changes since 2023 and advises expecting integration work.

G
Gainsight
Enterprise customer success platform and the category's original vendor. The product tracks customer health, predicts churn, and drives renewal and expansion workflow, built around health scoring, data modeling and automation deep enough that most deployments run a dedicated administrator. It has grown into a six product suite: the flagship success platform, product experience analytics with in application engagement, customer education acquired as Skilljar and Northpass, customer communities acquired as inSided, a mid market edition, and conversation and sentiment agents acquired as Staircase AI. The vendor reports more than three thousand five hundred customers and more than one thousand two hundred employees, with offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Israel and India. Vista Equity Partners took a majority stake on 30 November 2020 at a reported valuation of one point one billion dollars, and Gainsight has operated as a private equity portfolio company since. In November 2025 Gainsight was at the center of a supply chain security incident. Salesforce detected unusual activity through Gainsight published applications, revoked every access and refresh token for those applications, and temporarily removed them from its marketplace. Reporting from the forensic investigation indicated more than two hundred Salesforce instances were potentially affected. Gainsight engaged an external forensic firm and also deactivated its Zendesk, HubSpot and Gong integrations during the investigation. The origin was traced upstream to a separate compromise at another vendor whose product Gainsight itself used, so this was exposure through the integration estate rather than a failure of the Gainsight platform. A buyer should ask what the delegated permission scope of the Salesforce connector is today and what changed after the incident.

R
Rasayel
Business messaging platform built entirely on one consumer messaging service's official business interface, aimed at business to business sales teams of ten or more people who sell in conversation rather than by email. The core is a shared team inbox where every conversation is visible, assignable and annotated with private notes, wrapped in broadcasts to segmented lists, a no code chatbot builder with model driven nodes for qualification and knowledge base answers, multi step sequences, workflow automation and reporting. Qualification runs through interactive forms and structured flows, then routes to a named human by language, use case and availability, with handover treated as the designed outcome rather than an escape hatch. The vendor is a formally recognized partner of the platform it builds on under two named partner programs, so numbers are registered to the customer through the sanctioned route, templates go through pre approval, and the vendor's published education is largely about doing that correctly. Two systems of record integrate with dedicated pages and a third is named as forthcoming, alongside an automation platform, both graph and representational programmatic interfaces on a developer subdomain, a public status page and a documentation site. Interfaces are published in three languages. A model driven sales teammate is in gated early access.

O
Oliv AI
Agent platform for revenue teams, on its third positioning after starting as a sales calendar and then a rep copilot. Every meeting, email, call and document is captured automatically and written to the right account, contact and deal, then synthesised into three layers the vendor names and documents separately: an object graph that attaches each signal to the right record, a signal graph the vendor describes as more than a hundred small models each fine tuned to one revenue question, and a process graph holding the customer's profile, stages, rules, handoffs and approvals. On top run named agents that own responsibilities rather than tasks, spanning sales development, sales, onboarding, customer success, expansion, revenue operations and enablement, with two supervising agents above them, one dispatching work and one learning how the team operates and rewriting the rules the others follow. The disclosure profile is lopsided the other way from most of this session. The architecture is described in unusual technical depth and the trust surface is almost bare, with five certification marks appearing as unlinked images on the pricing page and no security page, trust center or report anywhere on the site.

K
Kronologic
Autonomous meeting booking platform operating as Testa, Inc. Rather than sending a booking link, it proposes a specific time, then engages each contact by email, reads their replies, negotiates an alternative in plain language against the seller's real availability, and places the meeting on the correct calendar without a representative touching the thread. Repositioned around expansion rather than cold outbound: renewal upsells, cross sell, dormant account reactivation, event and webinar lead follow up, inbound form fills, customer onboarding kickoffs and support escalations. Runs across a chosen segment in parallel, pulled from Salesforce or HubSpot, and writes outcomes back. Sold from a free booking page tier up to an enterprise rollout.

Hippo Video
Hippo Video is a video platform for revenue teams, sold as two separately priced product lines. The video messaging line is the original product: screen and webcam recording through a browser extension, desktop and mobile applications, hosted playback with viewer analytics, personalized sales landing pages, interactive elements such as clickable calls to action, polls and branching, and distribution through mail clients and roughly forty named sales and marketing integrations. The text to video line is the newer one, generating videos from a prompt, a document or a script using synthetic presenter avatars with voiceovers in more than thirty languages, including a digital twin that reproduces a named seller's own voice, gestures and style. A vertical product called HippoRev applies four agents to hotel group sales, covering inquiry capture, proposal generation with avatar video, engagement tracking and follow up. A software development kit exposes recording, playback, editing and reporting interfaces for embedding into other products. The company trades as Lyceum Technologies with a registered address in Newark, Delaware, reports more than 5,000 businesses and 1.5 million users, and raised 8 million dollars in 2023 led by Dallas Venture Capital. Founding year was not established and is deliberately left blank.

CentraHub CRM
CentraHub CRM is a configurable system of record sold by Centra Hub Private Limited, whose product portfolio traces back to 2002 and which is now being folded into its parent brand, Focus Softnet, a banner to that effect sitting at the top of its own pricing page. The generic edition on the price list is a sales, marketing and service platform: campaigns with budget and return tracking, lead scoring, assignment and follow up, tele leads with scripts, web and email lead capture, then accounts, contacts, products, a sales pipeline, opportunities, forecasting, a full configure price quote chain through estimates, price books, quotes, orders, invoices and receipts, and a service tier with service level agreements, queues, ticket management, maintenance contracts, worklogs and customer self service. A workflow engine, a named approvals module and a six stage business process management layer sit underneath, and a RESTful API with a developer center is the integration route. Around that generic edition the vendor sells industry editions that run well past go to market, into real estate, automotive, education, retail, project management, asset management, delivery and courier operations, facility management under the SFG20 maintenance standard, and manufacturing. Human capital management is a separate product line on the same site. Four paid tiers are published at thirteen, twenty one, thirty five and sixty three dollars per user per month, each with a five user minimum and annual prepayment, alongside a free tier for three users, and the buyer chooses between vendor hosting and hosting the system themselves. The company reports more than eleven thousand corporate clients across seventeen countries through a partner network.

Bigin by Zoho CRM
Bigin is Zoho's pipeline first system of record for small businesses, sold to companies of roughly one to twenty people that have outgrown spreadsheets but find a full customer relationship management platform too complex and too expensive. The vendor states its own ceiling openly, positioning Zoho CRM as the destination for mid market and enterprise teams and offering one click migration up when a customer outgrows Bigin. The product turns any customer facing process into a trackable pipeline with customizable stages, then wraps the record in the channels a small business actually uses: two way email integration with Gmail, Outlook and Zoho Mail, a built in phone with recording, automated voice responses and call routing plus more than a hundred third party telephony providers, WhatsApp Business messaging held against the contact record, mass email with per message insight, booking and appointment pages, web forms, payment links through Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay and Paytm, and lead capture synced from Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok advertising. An intelligence layer branded Zia runs across it at no separate subscription, covering a writing assistant, record and thread summaries, and three named agents: a Reply Assistant that answers inbound customer mail sent to team aliases, a CrossSell Genie that identifies and sends cross sell recommendations after a deal closes, and a Churn Analyzer that examines lost deals. Zia Agent Studio and a Zia agent marketplace extend the set, and a Zoho MCP server exposes Bigin data to external language models. Four editions are published, a free single user tier and three paid tiers, with developer APIs and MCP support available from the free tier upward. More than 50,000 businesses across 150 or more countries run on it, in 28 languages.

Aimdoc
AI sales agent that works the inbound side rather than the outbound one. The agent ingests a company's website, documents and FAQs, then converses with visitors, qualifies them against criteria the customer defines, books meetings through a calendar integration, and escalates to a human with a Slack notification when a person is needed. Agent voice and persona are configurable. A second product line extends the same agent into the application for trial onboarding and activation. The company positions itself against inbound conversion incumbents, publishes a documentation site, case studies and an ROI calculator, and exposes both an MCP server and a public agent gateway endpoint so other AI agents can converse with its sales agent directly.

9Lenses
Client consultation and guided discovery platform, founded in 2011 in Virginia and now aimed primarily at banks, insurers, consultancies and technology firms. A Discovery Assistant sends an adaptive questionnaire to a customer or prospect, the responses generate an assessment scorecard and benchmark analysis, and an AI assistant prepares the relationship manager with insights, pain points and recommended solutions before the meeting. The company positions this as turning a sales meeting into a consultation and reports around 28 employees and roughly 8.4 million dollars raised from Kinetic Ventures, Rally Ventures and Corporate Executive Board. No pricing is published.
