HubSpot Sales Hub vs Pipedrive (2026)

Last VerifiedSeptember 27, 2026
Verdict

The decision is whether you are buying a pipeline you can price to the last seat before the first call, or a platform whose trust and compliance apparatus is the deepest in its category and whose newest layer bills by the action. Pipedrive grades A on commercial transparency in the GTM Tech Index for a disclosure almost no vendor makes: hard usage ceilings for every plan, the top one included, down to two hundred and fifty automations, fifty sequences and twenty thousand leads and deals per seat. HubSpot Sales Hub publishes seat prices for four tiers and its onboarding fees, then leaves the agent actions and enrichment credits that now decide the real bill unpriced, which holds it at B. On nearly everything else HubSpot leads. It hosts in four named regions a customer can migrate between, serves its audit summary without a confidentiality agreement, and states plainly which of its own models train across accounts, behind a logged administrator toggle. Pipedrive answers the European question by contracting through a European entity. Both name their model providers, and both sell contact data without naming where it comes from.

Select HubSpot Sales Hub if
  • Your security review wants documents before a demo. HubSpot serves its audit summary, penetration test summaries and a security overview from its trust center without a confidentiality agreement, runs a vulnerability disclosure program through a named third party platform, and as a public company has its key technology controls audited under the financial reporting regime.
  • You need to choose where your data lives. HubSpot hosts in regional data centers across the United States, the European Union, Canada and Australia, lets a paid account migrate to a preferred region, publishes the limited cases in which processing can occur outside the chosen region, and breaks its processor register out by region, model providers included.
  • Your legal team will ask how customer data trains models. HubSpot contractually bars third party model providers from training on customer data, states that its own models do train, names which train within one account and which across accounts, and gives administrators a logged toggle, with sensitive data accounts opted out by default and unable to opt in.
Select Pipedrive if
  • You want to know the bill and the ceiling before you sign. Pipedrive publishes per seat rates on monthly and annual cycles for all four tiers and the limits every plan runs into, including two hundred and fifty automations, fifty sequences and twenty thousand leads and deals per seat, so a buyer can check that the top tier will hold the workload rather than assume it is unlimited.
  • You want to try before committing. Pipedrive runs a fourteen day trial with no card, cancels through billing settings without a sales conversation, states plainly that annual plans are non refundable while monthly plans stop at the next cycle, and prices campaign sending and visitor tracking as named additions on every plan.
  • You sell in Europe and want the transfer question settled by structure. European customers contract with Pipedrive's European entity, so their data stays inside the European Economic Area rather than crossing it under a safeguard, and its documentation states correctly that the customer is the controller and the vendor the processor.

The short version of each

HubSpot Sales Hub

HubSpot Sales Hub is the selling product on HubSpot's shared customer platform, from a publicly listed company reporting more than two hundred and ninety nine thousand customers across more than one hundred and thirty five countries, with sequences, calling, forecasting, quotes and a per action agent layer on one record. The GTM Tech Index grades it A on seven axes: stewardship, where it states which of its own models train across accounts and gives administrators a logged toggle; model transparency, with per feature model cards; residency, across four named hosting regions; security, with its audit summary downloadable without a confidentiality agreement; data privacy; ecosystem depth, with a marketplace of well over a thousand listings; and outcome evidence. It takes B on commercial transparency, where seat prices and onboarding fees are published but agent actions and enrichment credits are not, and B on six more. It grades C on data licensing, recipient disclosure and AI centrality.

Pipedrive

Pipedrive is a sales pipeline CRM built around a visual deal pipeline, two way mail synchronization, workflow automation, reporting and a marketplace of several hundred applications, with an assistant that shows the sources behind each answer in a dedicated tab. The GTM Tech Index grades it A on commercial transparency, where every plan carries published per seat rates and hard usage ceilings, a fourteen day trial needs no card and cancellation is self service. It takes A on data privacy, where European customers contract with its European entity so their data stays inside the European Economic Area, A on model transparency, naming a major commercial model provider, the open source models used alongside it and separate supplemental terms for its model features, and A on ecosystem depth. It takes B on security, residency, stewardship, autonomy, segment coverage and platform terms. It grades C on outcome evidence, with no first party customer outcomes located, and C on data licensing, where its prospecting data asserts compliance without naming a source.

Buyer Questions

Common questions

Is HubSpot better than Pipedrive?

On trust and compliance evidence, HubSpot Sales Hub leads, with seven A grades in the GTM Tech Index to Pipedrive's four, ahead on residency, security, stewardship and outcome evidence. Pipedrive leads on price transparency, publishing per plan usage ceilings as well as rates, and matches HubSpot at A on data privacy, model transparency and ecosystem depth. A team that must know its full cost before a sales call can do that only with Pipedrive.

Is Pipedrive cheaper than HubSpot?

Only Pipedrive lets you compute it. Both publish per seat rates for four tiers. HubSpot adds one time onboarding fees of fifteen hundred and thirty five hundred dollars on its two upper tiers, requires annual commitment on every paid plan, and bills its agents per action at rates it does not publish. Pipedrive publishes rates on monthly and annual cycles, prices campaign sending and visitor tracking as named additions, and states that it offers no nonprofit or education discount. Graded by GTM Tech Index against seventeen capability axes from each vendor's own published materials, verified September 27, 2026. No vendor pays for placement.

Where do HubSpot and Pipedrive store my data?

HubSpot hosts in regional data centers across the United States, the European Union, Canada and Australia, lets a paid account migrate between them, and publishes the exceptions where processing leaves the chosen region. Pipedrive names its two hosting providers and contracts with European customers through a European entity so their data stays inside the European Economic Area, but offers no region choice outside Europe. Graded by GTM Tech Index against seventeen capability axes from each vendor's own published materials, verified September 27, 2026. No vendor pays for placement.

Do HubSpot and Pipedrive use my data to train AI?

HubSpot answers in detail. Third party model providers are contractually barred from training on customer data, its own models do train, some within one account and some across accounts, and administrators control that with a logged toggle, while accounts holding sensitive data are opted out by default. Pipedrive governs its model features under separate supplemental terms and names a major commercial provider and open source models in a public register. The GTM Tech Index grades that structure B, and the training commitment sits in those terms.

How does the GTM Tech Index grade HubSpot Sales Hub and Pipedrive?

Both are graded on the same seventeen capability and compliance axes from public sources, at a documented depth of seventeen each, and neither holds a D. HubSpot Sales Hub takes A on seven axes and B on seven, with C on data licensing, recipient disclosure and AI centrality. Pipedrive takes A on commercial transparency, data privacy, model transparency and ecosystem depth, B on six and C on seven. The index publishes no composite score and declares no winner.

Disclosure

The shared silence is the contact data each now sells beside the CRM. HubSpot moved record enrichment from a free feature into metered credits, and Pipedrive sells a prospecting product whose leads it describes as model verified and compliant with European data protection law.

Neither names a source, a collection method, an accuracy rate or a lawful basis for holding information about people who never contracted with either, and neither publishes a route for those people to be told or removed, which grades both C on data licensing. The second shared silence is the recipient.

HubSpot's prospecting agent drafts outreach and Pipedrive's generator writes outbound mail from a one line instruction, and neither states whether the person receiving it is told a machine composed it, or takes a position on article 50 of the European artificial intelligence regulation. HubSpot also records calls from the record with no notification position published. The benign reading is that both treat those duties as the customer's configuration. Ask both in writing where enrichment and prospecting records come from, and ask HubSpot for its per action agent rates and credit prices before comparing seat totals.
