Leadspicker vs Smartlead (2026)

Verdict

The decision is what happens to the things the model decides you should not see. Both platforms put a model at a point where it silently removes something from a person's view, and only one of them shows the removals. Leadspicker's agents discover and evaluate people unattended, and the agent keeps a detailed log recording who it rejected as well as who it surfaced, so a buyer can inspect what was considered. Smartlead's consolidated inbox sorts every inbound reply into positive, negative and out of office, and those labels decide whether a person ever reads the message. Seven model branded products carry no named technology behind any of them, and no accuracy or error rate is published for the categorisation. A miscategorised positive reply is a deal lost that nobody knows was lost. Reviewers describe the labelling as reliable in practice, which is a defence of the feature and not of the silence around it. The GTM Tech Index grades Leadspicker A on model disclosure and Smartlead D, and this is what that distance looks like in use.

Select Leadspicker if
  • Validation should come with the row rather than in a paid band. Address checking through a named third party service is included free on every row rather than metered, a verified address is charged only when a valid one is actually returned, and the multi supplier waterfall means a row that cannot be resolved simply is not, rather than being guessed at and sent to.
  • You need to know which plan you are before you buy it. Four role pages address sales teams, agencies, revenue teams and marketing teams, six use case pages sit beside them, every tier names its intended buyer from a solo founder through to a mature revenue organisation, team member limits of one, ten, one hundred and unlimited give that ladder a numeric shape, and three named competitors are addressed directly so the positioning is testable.
  • An agent has to be containable by something other than instruction. Routines are capped per tier at five, fifty and then unlimited, credits act as a hard spending ceiling with automatic top up an opt in choice rather than a default, and monthly export limits bound how many records can leave, so the constraints hold whether or not the plain language configuration was written well.
Select Smartlead if
  • Customer evidence has to name the counterparty. Four case studies carry named companies and figures, each on its own page rather than as a floating quotation, including a startup with no prior business to business sales booking seventy three demonstrations in a month and closing two point seven million dollars with a named global car manufacturer, a three year account reporting thirty meetings a quarter, and two founders who built a lead generation business to ten thousand meetings and thirty million dollars.
  • Tenant isolation should carry a price rather than a sales conversation. Private infrastructure appears in the pricing comparison with a figure attached, dedicated servers are sold at thirty nine dollars per server monthly with a dedicated address and configurable settings, and three servers plus authenticated delegation are included at the top tier, which lets a customer grant access without handing over credentials.
  • The warmed sending estate has to remain yours. Mailboxes provisioned through the platform are real accounts from the two major mailbox providers sitting on domains the customer purchases, one provisioning option is offered specifically with administrative access so the customer holds the rights to their own accounts, interfaces and webhooks give a programmatic extraction route from the second tier upward, and there is no lock in contract.

The short version of each

Leadspicker

Leadspicker is a Czech prospecting platform combining autonomous discovery agents, a named enrichment waterfall and multichannel email and professional network sequencing in one product, with agents configured in plain language and a single credit currency defined as one euro cent. The GTM Tech Index grades it C on autonomy and oversight, and records one real audit artefact against three commercial constraints: the agent keeps a detailed log recording the people it evaluated and rejected as well as those it surfaced, while routines are capped per tier at five, fifty and then unlimited, credits act as a hard spending ceiling with automatic top up an opt in choice rather than a default, and monthly export limits bound how many records can leave. Nothing sits at the point of action, with no approval step before an agent contacts anyone and no review queue.

Smartlead

Smartlead is a high volume cold email platform built around one commercial inversion: connect as many mailboxes as you like at no extra charge, and pay instead for contacts stored, messages sent and addresses verified, which makes it heavily concentrated among agencies running dozens of inboxes per client. The GTM Tech Index grades it D on AI disclosure and model transparency, its only D, because seven model branded products carry no named technology behind any of them: no provider, no model name, no version, no statement of what campaign content or reply correspondence is transmitted for inference, no training or retention position, and no accuracy measure for the reply categorisation that decides whether a person ever reads an inbound message.

Buyer Questions

Common questions

Is Leadspicker better than Smartlead?

They differ on what happens to what the model discards, and the GTM Tech Index grades Leadspicker A on AI disclosure and model transparency against D for Smartlead. Leadspicker's agent keeps a detailed log recording the people it evaluated and rejected as well as those it surfaced. Smartlead's consolidated inbox sorts every inbound reply into positive, negative and out of office, those labels decide whether a person ever reads the message, and no accuracy or error rate is published for the sorting. Independent reviewers describe the labelling as reliable in practice, which is a defence of the feature rather than of the silence around it.

What models are behind these products?

Only Leadspicker names any. Three model providers are named outright in the pricing table, a picker exposes the choice with the exact cost per row before anything runs, and a dedicated table quotes each model the way its own provider quotes it. Smartlead ships seven model branded products, covering an assistant, an agent product, reply categorisation, a copywriter, a subject line generator, a subject line analyser and model driven warm up, and two passes across the pricing page, the product navigation and the tool listings located no provider, no model name, no version and no evaluation or accuracy measure behind any of them.

How much do Leadspicker and Smartlead cost?

Both publish completely and the GTM Tech Index grades both A on commercial transparency. Smartlead publishes four tiers at thirty nine, ninety four, one hundred and seventy four and three hundred and seventy nine dollars monthly with annual equivalents, and prices every add on beside them, including white label per client workspace, dedicated servers per server, placement testing in three bands and verification credits across eight volume bands. Leadspicker publishes four tiers in euros, five capacity dimensions numbered against each, a rate for every action, and a credit defined as one euro cent so the credit figure and the money figure are the same number in different units.

Who owns the sending estate at each vendor?

Smartlead's customer does, which is why the index grades it B on exit and data portability. Mailboxes provisioned through the platform are real accounts from the two major mailbox providers sitting on domains the customer buys, and one provisioning option comes with administrative access, so the warmed estate that takes months to build is a portable asset rather than vendor owned infrastructure. Leadspicker sells sending seats capped per tier on both channels, names no export function as such, specifies no file format or schema, and publishes no retention window or deletion timeline for lead records, campaign history or inbox content.

Which one bounds what an agent can do?

Leadspicker, and the constraints are commercial rather than editorial. Routines are capped per tier at five, fifty and then unlimited, credits function as a hard spending ceiling with automatic top up an opt in choice rather than a default, and monthly export limits bound how many records can leave. Smartlead markets an agent product as a model powered go to market workforce, and two passes located no description of what it may do unsupervised, no approval step before anything it produces reaches a prospect, no audit trail of its actions and no permission model governing who can deploy one.

How does the GTM Tech Index grade Leadspicker and Smartlead?

Both are graded on the same seventeen capability and compliance axes from public sources. The GTM Tech Index grades Leadspicker A on commercial transparency, AI disclosure and model transparency and ecosystem depth, and B on data licensing, operational evidence, exit and portability and segment coverage, with no D on any axis. Smartlead takes A on operational and outcome evidence, ecosystem depth, commercial transparency, deliverability discipline and segment coverage, and B on data privacy posture, platform terms exposure, deployment and residency and exit, with a single D on AI disclosure and model transparency. The index publishes no composite score and declares no winner.

Disclosure

The shared silence is what becomes of the content the model reads. Both vendors run generated copy, classification and agent products over material that is not theirs: at Smartlead the reply correspondence sitting in a consolidated inbox on a platform sending up to five hundred thousand messages a month, at Leadspicker the messages and prospect records moving through agents that run unattended around the clock.

Neither publishes a training position, a retention position for prompts or generated output, or any statement that analysis does not cross between customer accounts. Smartlead's silence is structural, because it names no model provider at all, so there is no third party relationship whose terms a buyer could go and read. Leadspicker names three providers and still states nothing about handling on its own default path, where the vendor's own provider keys run the agents.

It does publish two ways out, connecting a personal provider key or driving the agent from its protocol server inside the buyer's own client software, and both are described as billing arrangements rather than as commitments about data. The second silence sits underneath both. Neither carries an independent security attestation of any kind.

Smartlead maintains a genuine legal estate, with a processing agreement, a fair use policy and a data sale opt out all published openly rather than on request, and holds no certification, no service organisation control report, no penetration test, no trust portal and no enumerated control set. At Leadspicker nothing addressing security was located at all, not even the transport encryption and access control basics most companies of that size at least assert. Both hold conversation content across connected sending accounts sold by the hundred, which is the case where the absence is most conspicuous.
