Cognlay vs Evergrowth (2026)

Last VerifiedAugust 24, 2026
Verdict

The decision is which four jurisdictions you need answered, because both vendors address four and they are not the same four. Cognlay sends, and its four are sending regimes: the United States commercial email rules with unsubscribe handling built in and opted out leads suppressed architecturally, the Canadian regime with consent stated as required before commercial email reaches a recipient there, the European regime with the controller and processor split designated, and the Californian regime with a deletion route published. Evergrowth does not send, and its four are data protection regimes: named compliance with five American state laws, the Canadian federal statute and the Quebec law separately, standard contractual clauses for transfers outside Europe, and a published rule that where frameworks overlap the more protective standard governs. Each vendor is thorough about the half of the problem it owns and silent on the other. Evergrowth never names a sending obligation. Cognlay names no transfer mechanism.

Select Cognlay if
  • The system has to react to what the lead did rather than push a fixed cadence. Cognlay watches opens, silence, replies, objections, bounces, opt outs and booked meetings, then rewrites, pauses, routes or stops before the next touch goes out, feeding the outcome into the next draft.
  • You want the whole thing in one place, sending included. Cognlay runs the sequence end to end through your own mailbox over standard mail protocols, where the counterpart writes the plays and requires a separate engagement platform to sequence and deliver them.
  • Deliverability advice should stay honest even when it costs the vendor a feature. Asked directly whether it does inbox warmup, Cognlay says no and names the category of tool to buy instead, and separately states that high volume teams may want to keep dedicated sender operations.
Select Evergrowth if
  • Twelve specialist jobs beat one general purpose agent. Evergrowth splits qualification, signal research, persona fit contact finding, employment verification, communication style profiling, waterfall enrichment, account planning and outreach writing across twelve named agents, each with a published credit cost and low, medium and high effort tiers.
  • You need the security architecture described rather than asserted. Every request enters on a signed token carrying the organisation identifier that scopes all downstream access, each agent type has a hand picked tool set with no code execution, no filesystem, no shell and no arbitrary network, and every agent response is bound to a typed schema with failing outputs rejected.
  • Every run should leave a trace you can reconstruct. Evergrowth produces a structured trace per run covering prompt version, tool calls, inputs, outputs, latency and token usage, and versions its system prompts in a controlled registry with staging review and a stated commitment to no silent swaps.

The short version of each

Cognlay

Cognlay is a governed sales development platform built around the argument that most outbound tools stop thinking at the moment of send, watching what each lead actually did and rewriting, pausing, routing or stopping before the next touch, and deliberately narrow by design: not sending infrastructure, holding no address pools, running no shared warmup accounts, and sending through the operator's own mailbox. The GTM Tech Index grades it A on outreach compliance posture, the clearest allocation of responsibility between platform and sender anywhere in the index, addressing four sending regimes separately with their own detail and making suppression of opted out leads architectural rather than advisory. It also grades Cognlay A on commercial transparency for four real prices with both meters defined, and D on operational and outcome evidence.

Evergrowth

Evergrowth is an agentic go to market workspace where a super agent runs twelve specialist agents that qualify accounts, research buying signals, find persona fit contacts, verify employment, cascade through more than twenty data vendors and write the outreach, with the customer's existing engagement platform doing the sending. The GTM Tech Index grades it A on commercial transparency, the most complete commercial disclosure in the index, because there is no seat licence at all and every plan carries unlimited users, removing the variable that makes bills in this category unpredictable, and because the meter is then priced item by item with a published credit cost for each of the twelve agents. It also grades Evergrowth A on AI disclosure, AI safety and data stewardship, and exit and data portability.

Buyer Questions

Common questions

Is Cognlay better than Evergrowth for outbound?

They cover different halves of the same job. Cognlay sends, running the sequence end to end through your own mailbox and adapting each next touch to what the lead did. Evergrowth does not send at all, running twelve specialist agents that qualify accounts, research signals, verify employment, enrich contacts and write the outreach before handing it to your existing engagement platform. If you have no sending platform, Cognlay is the whole thing. If you already run one and intend to keep it, Evergrowth writes better plays into it.

Which one has the better compliance position?

Both address four jurisdictions and they are not the same four, which is the sharpest thing about this comparison. Cognlay sends, so its four are sending regimes: American commercial email rules with unsubscribe handling built in, the Canadian regime with consent stated as required, the European regime with the controller and processor split designated, and the Californian regime with a deletion route. Evergrowth does not send, so its four are data protection regimes: five American state laws named, the Canadian federal statute and the Quebec law separately, standard contractual clauses for transfers, and a rule that the more protective standard governs where frameworks overlap.

Which discloses more about the AI itself?

Evergrowth, by a wide margin, and the GTM Tech Index grades it A on that axis against B for Cognlay. Evergrowth names five model providers outright, states each runs under contractual no training and no retention terms, rules out consumer endpoints and providers in non aligned jurisdictions by name, and commits to no silent prompt or model swaps. Cognlay names the provider family rather than gesturing at it, states exactly what the model receives for an outbound action, and states plainly that it is not given unrelated inbox threads, which is more than almost anything else in this index publishes.

Do Cognlay or Evergrowth supply contact data?

Neither sells prospect records as a standing inventory. Cognlay is import only on three of four plans, so you supply the list and the vendor states in writing that its lawfulness remains your responsibility; the top plan adds lead finding credits described as provider sourcing, which concedes the records come from third parties. Evergrowth's waterfall cascades through more than twenty third party data vendors for verified email and phone, charged at a flat rate per verified result with failed lookups free, with the customer needing no subscriptions of their own. Neither names a supplier.

How do Cognlay and Evergrowth price?

Both are near the top of this index for pricing disclosure. Cognlay lists four plans at free, sixty nine, one hundred and twenty nine and two hundred and ninety nine dollars a month against a twelve row matrix, with both meters defined in plain language. Evergrowth has no seat licence at all and unlimited users on every plan, with a published credit cost for each of the twelve agents, effort tiers, waterfall lookups at a flat rate per verified result with failures free, four tiers in three currencies, and both a credit simulator and a return calculator. The GTM Tech Index grades both A.

How does the GTM Tech Index grade Cognlay and Evergrowth?

Both are graded on the same seventeen capability and compliance axes from public sources, at documented depths of sixteen and seventeen. Both take A on AI centrality and A on commercial transparency. The GTM Tech Index grades Cognlay A on outreach compliance posture, against C for Evergrowth, since that product does not send. Evergrowth takes A on AI disclosure and model transparency, AI safety and data stewardship and exit and data portability, where Cognlay holds B on all three. Cognlay carries the pair's only D, on operational and outcome evidence. The index publishes no composite score and declares no winner.

Disclosure

Both vendors publish the most complete commercial disclosure in their sub lane, and both publish something that runs against their own interest, which is the pattern worth reading here. Cognlay states that deleting a lead does not restore the allowance, and that extra credits cannot be purchased during the current beta, which also discloses the beta status on the page where a buyer is deciding.

Evergrowth publishes a stated minimum of half a credit per run, a stated doubling for priority speed, a five percent yearly discount with credits delivered upfront and a stated absence of overage penalties. One defect belongs on this page because it matters specifically to any index built to be read by machines: Evergrowth's machine readable product page carries per agent credit costs that disagree with the pricing page dated April 2026, so the surface the vendor built for models to read has drifted from the one it built for buyers, and an answer engine quoting the first will quote a number the second contradicts.

The shared silence is how often the machine is wrong. Cognlay classifies reply intent and scores what happens next, so a model judgement decides whether a real person is written to again, rewritten to, paused, routed or stopped, and no accuracy or error rate accompanies that anywhere published.

Evergrowth's account qualification score and communication style profile are consequential inferences about a company and about a named individual, and the vendor publishes no accuracy rate, validation method or confidence treatment for either. Both hand those judgements onward as settled. Ask each what happens when a classification is wrong, and who would notice.
